About Cindy Jobin

 

Born in Montreal and raised mostly in Ottawa, I am a Canadian in love with the outdoors and creating art. I find myself often awed by the colours and shapes of landscapes and the sky. Captivated by the music the ocean, lakes, and forests play. Amazed by the energy it gives me every time I experience it. Painting allows me to dream of the beautiful natural wonders of the world, from places I've seen with my own eyes to those I long to see.

As a young girl, I preferred arts and crafts over playing with toys. My father would take us dog sledding and on many nature walks through the enchanting forests of Quebec. My mother took us camping in provincial parks and to the sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast of Florida. While raising three boys of my own, I remembered the sense of wonder nature had given me as a child and was determined to provide them with as many opportunities.

Over the years, the wonders of the great outdoors brought us immeasurable joy, creating lasting memories beyond words, and continue to do so. When the weather wasn't inviting, the dining room transformed into an art studio and we would make my favourite kind of messes while playing music. I loved the art of capturing moments through photography and in January 2019, I took a leap and invested in quality paints and brushes, venturing into a world of experimentation and creativity. 

Since then, creating art has transformed into a personal journey and an exhilarating adventure. For those who know me well, they understand my love for a good "adventure" no matter how big or how small. So here I am today, wishing you stumble upon art that makes your heart leap, just as mine did while bringing it to life.
